Head of Operations (Advanced Composites)

Location: Duxford, United Kingdom; candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing operations to deliver safe, efficient, compliant production that meets customer and business requirements.
• Develop and execute operational strategies covering production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and performance.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, waste reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Provide strategic leadership for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, QMS maintenance, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Lead Manufacturing, Quality, Training, and Continuous Improvement teams, including capability building, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Manage operational budgets and KPIs while improving profitability through efficiency, cost control, and strategic investment.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Significant senior leadership experience in composite materials or chemical manufacturing.
• Experience leading integrated manufacturing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, QMS, regulatory compliance, audits, and root cause analysis.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, coaching, and talent development skills, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
