TL;DR
OSS Operations Expert (Telecom): Supporting second-line operations for provisioning, monitoring, and critical OSS applications in a multi-vendor telecommunications environment with an accent on fault troubleshooting, service continuity, and ITIL-aligned operations. Focus on administering Linux and database environments, performing health checks, coordinating incident and change management, and supporting software rollouts and integrations.
Location: Porto, Portugal. Hybrid work with 8–10 in-office days per month.

What you will do
- Administer provisioning, monitoring, and critical OSS application platforms.
- Provide second-line operational support, perform preventive and corrective troubleshooting, and implement corrective actions.
- Carry out daily monitoring and health checks, support incident detection, and contribute to system optimization.
- Support configuration, software rollouts, integrations, service requests, and configuration verification.
- Develop technical procedures for alarm analysis and fault elimination while maintaining operational documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, first-line operations, NOC engineers, service delivery teams, stakeholders, partners, and third-party support.
Requirements
- University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in server or application operations and maintenance.
- At least 1 year of experience with Linux operating systems and database operations.
- Knowledge of Linux, application and database administration, telecom protocols, virtualization technologies, and ticket-routing systems.
- Knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes and ITIL-aligned operational practices.
- Proficient spoken and written English.
Nice to have
- Experience with programming or scripting languages.
- Experience with VMware vSphere/ESX and Microsoft Azure.
