Lead Project Manager (Data Centre)

What you will do

• Lead large-scale construction and development projects across Japan, including data centers, logistics facilities, manufacturing plants, offices, and commercial assets.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from feasibility and planning through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, quality, safety, risks, changes, governance, and issue resolution across multiple concurrent projects.
• Act as the primary client interface and coordinate senior stakeholders, consultants, designers, contractors, authorities, and executive teams.
• Lead procurement strategies, tendering, vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and contract administration.
• Mentor project managers and junior team members while supporting proposals, client development, strategic account growth, and new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in architecture, engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in construction, development, infrastructure, or a related industry.
• Proven experience leading complex projects as a project manager, construction manager, development manager, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience managing project budgets, schedules, quality, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level or above English, including meetings, presentations, and written communication with international clients and APAC teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong communication, leadership, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, manufacturing plants, logistics facilities, or large-scale developments.
• Professional qualifications such as First-Class Architect, First-Class Construction Management Engineer, CCMJ, PMP, or RICS.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, critical infrastructure environments, and commissioning processes.
• Experience in multinational or cross-border project environments and business development, client relationship, or account management.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, MS Project, Primavera P6, or Procore.
