Principal Data Strategist (Data & AI)

Location: Based in Germany with regular travel to client sites of up to approximately 50% of the time; conditions also list Zurich, Switzerland.

What you will do

• Co-create data and technology strategies aligned with clients' business goals and define enterprise data-driven visions.
• Advise on complex data programs and provide technical leadership as a data subject-matter expert.
• Lead client engagements, shape commercial pursuits, and collaborate with sales on viable solutions and proposals.
• Translate between business, data, and IT while communicating strategy to senior and C-level stakeholders.
• Create end-to-end data solutions and oversee program inceptions for new product development.
• Define data governance strategies covering security, privacy, compliance, lineage, quality, and classification.

Requirements

• Extensive consulting experience delivering data strategy and solutions that create business value.
• Strong experience with data platforms, data technologies, data governance, and enterprise-wide strategy.
• Experience with AI and ML use cases, solution frameworks, data-as-a-product, and federated governance.
• Recent consultancy or professional-services experience driving data and AI engagements end to end, including pursuits of approximately €3M or more.
• Significant hands-on and leadership experience in data and AI, typically 10+ years, with the ability to lead technical teams and projects.
• Professional German proficiency at B2 minimum is required; C1 is strongly preferred.

• Outstanding data and AI consulting credentials that compensate for German proficiency below the stated level.
• Experience creating reusable accelerators, go-to-market assets, or growing a data strategy and governance practice.
