Staff Data Engineer (AWS/Cybersecurity): Designing and operating large-scale cloud data infrastructure for cybersecurity products and analytics with an accent on AWS Glue, S3 data lakes, PySpark, data quality, and governance. Focus on building petabyte-scale pipelines, optimizing data models and queries, leading architecture decisions, and resolving production reliability challenges.

What you will do
- Design, build, and operate scalable AWS data pipelines with Glue, PySpark, and Glue Studio.
- Develop cloud data lake architecture on Amazon S3, including partitioning, file formats, and Glue Data Catalog schemas.
- Implement data quality validation, anomaly detection, SLA-driven alerting, governance, lineage tracking, and privacy-by-design practices.
- Establish engineering standards for code reviews, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and DataOps.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders on data models and pipeline specifications.
- Lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, troubleshoot production incidents, and drive preventive improvements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software or data engineering experience, including at least 4 years focused on cloud data platforms.
- Deep expertise with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Glue Data Catalog, Glue Studio, and Amazon Athena.
- Strong Python skills and production-grade PySpark or Spark experience for large-scale data transformation.
- Solid SQL skills, including writing and tuning complex analytical queries.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions, with strong communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, or AWS Glue Streaming ETL.
- Familiarity with AWS Lake Formation, Amazon Redshift, data quality frameworks, or cloud data warehouses.
- Background in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or security analytics data.
- AWS Data Engineer or Solutions Architect certification, or contributions to open-source data engineering projects.
