What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable financial data models in dbt Cloud and Snowflake.
- Build and support ETL/ELT transformations for Finance, Accounting, reporting, planning, and analytical use cases.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, analysts, and business stakeholders to define requirements, data definitions, and analytical needs.
- Implement data quality controls and investigate discrepancies, reporting issues, and transformation failures.
- Optimize SQL and dbt models for performance, maintainability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Document dependencies, transformations, and metric definitions while identifying opportunities for automation and improved self-service data access.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence engineering, or a related data discipline.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex transformations and analytical data models.
- Hands-on experience with dbt, including model development, testing, documentation, dependencies, reusable components, and development best practices.
- Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse and strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, fact tables, dimensions, grain, relationships, and slowly changing dimensions.
- Experience working directly with business users and analysts; Finance, Accounting, FP&A, or financial reporting experience is preferred.
