Staff Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; primary location at 809 11th Ave

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver scalable platform capabilities, infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks.
• Drive coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and other full software development lifecycle activities.
• Design cloud-native systems using microservices, containers, automation, and resilient architecture principles.
• Lead system design reviews and build AI-driven applications with intelligent automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into technical requirements and improve products through data-driven decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area, plus 4 years of relevant experience; or 6 years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, automation, software design patterns, API design, and platform development.
• Experience leading software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++ for AI/ML integration and automation.
• Ability to conduct design reviews, make data-driven decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, digital accessibility, and inclusive product development.
