Permit Operations Manager (AI)

Location: Remote, but must be based in Ontario, Canada, or willing to relocate to Ontario

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 annual on-target earnings, plus equity and bonus

Applied AI company building software that helps construction companies manage permitting, licensing, inspections, and project closeouts.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary customer contact for permit status, timelines, requirements, and project updates.
• Manage the full permit lifecycle, including researching requirements, preparing documentation, submitting applications, and tracking approvals.
• Train, coach, manage, and mentor junior team members, including conducting 1:1s and overseeing their work.
• Prepare detailed permit progress reports for customers and stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements that reduce bottlenecks and increase operational efficiency.
• Ensure applications are accurate, complete, and compliant while working with authorities to expedite approvals.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in construction permitting, project management, or a similar role.
• English and French bilingual proficiency required.
• Must be based in Ontario, Canada, or willing to relocate to Ontario.
• Direct experience with residential or commercial permitting in Quebec and municipal authorities.
• Strong project management, communication, customer relationship, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with customer success, customer experience, sales, SaaS, or technology-driven environments.
