Principal Process Engineer - Warehouse (Logistics)

Location: Wilson, North Carolina, United States; full-time on-site support required. Frequent travel of more than 75% is required while the facility design is conducted at an engineering firm, followed by a transition to the Wilson plant site.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end logistics process engineering and serve as the technical authority for warehouse and material-handling design.
• Define warehouse types, automation, robotic movement, material flows, and in-process storage solutions for large-molecule, aseptic biotherapeutic operations.
• Develop specifications, drawings, URS, data sheets, technical specifications, P&IDs, and PFDs for logistics systems.
• Lead equipment design, vendor assessments, bid-document reviews, and execution accountability with engineering, construction, and equipment partners.
• Lead and support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and commercial production start-up activities.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Facilities, MSAT, Quality, Procurement, E&PS, Automation, Inventory Management, Cold Chain, and EHS teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of logistics process engineering and/or capital project execution experience in a large-molecule, biotherapeutic cGMP environment.
• Experience designing warehouse floorplans, material transport corridors, and in-process storage areas using simulation modeling, process mapping, and time studies.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP logistics, EHS-by-design, construction safety, engineering design, procurement, project controls, and scheduling.
• Experience resolving complex technical and regulatory challenges and collaborating with external engineering, construction, and equipment partners.
• Ability to provide full-time on-site support in Wilson, North Carolina and travel more than 75% during facility design.

Nice to have

• Deep process engineering experience from conceptual design through commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness.
• Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield GMP aseptic manufacturing facility start-ups in logistics.
• Master’s degree or MBA.
