Purchasing Manager (Nuclear)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite role

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Build and lead a purchasing team covering Buyers and Senior Buyers across direct and indirect spend categories.
• Drive on-time, on-quality, and on-cost purchase order placement and delivery.
• Establish scalable purchasing policies, processes, controls, and systems for production growth.
• Manage team priorities, workloads, performance goals, KPIs, and corrective actions.
• Resolve complex supplier issues, schedule risks, and cross-functional roadblocks.
• Partner with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 8+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, including 3+ years leading a purchasing team.
• Experience managing both direct and indirect spend categories.
• Hands-on experience in an ERP/MRP-driven environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment with strong communication and execution skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, aerospace, automotive, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience building or scaling a purchasing team from the ground up.
• APICS/CPIM certification.
