SOC Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote role associated with Bogotá, Colombia

What you will do

• Monitor SIEM and other security platforms, reviewing logs, events, and alerts for suspicious activity.
• Investigate, classify, and prioritize security alerts, eliminate false positives, and correlate activity with known attack patterns.
• Respond to security incidents using established incident response playbooks and collaborate with internal stakeholders on threat mitigation.
• Create, maintain, and improve incident response playbooks, policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Maintain and tune monitoring systems and detection rules, identify coverage gaps, and implement enhancements.
• Support vulnerability management, forensic investigations, evidence collection, and detailed incident reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information security, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role and experience with security operations center processes.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM management, vulnerability scanners, and XDR tools.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related protocols.
• Experience documenting and maintaining processes and procedures, with strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Relevant certifications such as GSEC, GCIH, CompTIA, BTL1, BTL2, or cybersecurity vendor certifications.
