Radiological Controls Manager (Nuclear Operations)

Location: On-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho; candidates must be based in the United States

hirify.global Atomics develops factory-fabricated microreactors intended to provide scalable nuclear power for applications including data centers.

What you will do

• Establish and own the site Radiological Control program, including policies, procedures, training, metrics, staffing, vendors, and budget.
• Develop the technical basis for radiation detector selection, placement, setpoints, shielding, background considerations, dosimetry, and monitoring architecture.
• Specify, procure, test, calibrate, and integrate radiation monitoring systems with plant data systems, dashboards, and trending tools.
• Build compliance traceability, prepare for inspections and audits, lead readiness assessments, and track corrective actions.
• Support work planning, radiological surveys, contamination controls, commissioning, outages, incident response, and cause analysis.
• Mentor early-career staff and manage vendors and service providers.

Requirements

• BS degree in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Radiological Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant Radiological Control or Radiation Protection experience, including program ownership or build-out.
• Experience establishing or significantly upgrading a Radiological Control program in a nuclear or similarly high-rigor environment.
• Hands-on expertise with radiation monitoring systems, calibration, setpoint methodology, radiological surveys, ALARA programs, procedures, and records management.
• Experience preparing for inspections or audits and leading compliance-readiness activities, with strong technical writing, training, and communication skills.
• Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons under 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.

Nice to have

• Prior RSO responsibility.
• Experience with effluent or stack monitoring, environmental monitoring, shielding, dose assessment, data analysis, and plant data-system integration.
• Familiarity with NRC or DOE regulations and ANSI/ANS N13 standards.
• Early-stage, commissioning, or small-team leadership experience.
