Nuclear Operations & Licensing Engineering Intern (Nuclear Energy)

Location: On-site five days per week in Idaho Falls, Idaho; no remote or hybrid arrangements. Some internship roles may be based at the Torrance headquarters.

Compensation: $34 per hour. Relocation and housing stipend included.

What you will do

• Interface with responsible engineers to establish operating requirements for reactor systems.
• Develop and document maintenance requirements based on system designs and operating needs.
• Use reactor simulators and test systems to validate and improve operator training activities.
• Evaluate international nuclear licensing frameworks relevant to reactor deployment.
• Identify similarities and differences between domestic and international licensing requirements.
• Assess approaches for demonstrating compliance across domestic and international deployments.

Requirements

• Must work on-site five days per week in Idaho Falls or another designated hirify.global office; remote and hybrid arrangements are not considered.
• Must satisfy U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
• Currently enrolled in at least a bachelor's degree program and entering the junior or senior year.
• Prior internship experience or more than one year of significant project team, laboratory, or research experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, technical communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a dynamic environment.

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
