Junior AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Košice, Slovakia; remote work is available only within Slovakia due to European taxation regulation.

Salary: negotiable base salary from €2,000 gross per month, plus a variable part and other financial benefits.

What you will do

• Analyse large repositories for maintainability issues, dependency risks, insecure patterns, hidden coupling, build fragility, licensing signals, and documentation gaps.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate code review preparation, vulnerability explanations, remediation proposals, test generation, and technical debt analysis.
• Run and interpret code quality, dependency, secret, container, infrastructure, and software supply-chain scans.
• Validate reproducible builds and releases by analysing logs, pipeline definitions, container images, package sources, artefact flows, and configuration assumptions.
• Create evidence packs linking findings to code locations, tool results, reviewer decisions, risk severity, mitigations, and readiness implications.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, architecture, and testing specialists on enterprise assurance activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, secure development, DevSecOps, platform engineering, or quality-focused engineering.
• Strong Python skills and practical experience with at least one backend or systems language such as Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with code review, vulnerability triage, dependency analysis, CI/CD inspection, container security, or software supply-chain evidence generation.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants for code understanding, documentation, remediation proposals, test generation, or large-repository reviews.
• Understanding of OpenStack-derived cloud platforms, distributed services, Kubernetes, Linux, and enterprise build and release processes is preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English is required.
