TL;DR
Research Fellow (Artificial Heart Technology): Developing artificial hearts and cardiovascular technologies within a multidisciplinary research program with an accent on blood rheology, haemocompatibility, and biomedical research. Focus on applying ASTM standards, reporting research findings, and contributing to technologies for heart failure treatment.

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Gold Coast campus, Australia, with a mix of on-campus and work-from-home options; work across other university locations may be required.

Salary: AUD 91,705–107,420 per year plus 17% superannuation for Research Fellow Grade 1, or AUD 117,076–139,031 per year plus 17% superannuation for Grade 2.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program funded by the Medical Research Future Fund.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research within the Biorheology Research Laboratory.
  • Support the development of artificial hearts and related cardiovascular technologies.
  • Work with academic, healthcare, and industry partners on research and commercialisation activities.
  • Report research findings and contribute to the delivery of the research project.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent qualifications or work experience in blood rheology or a similar field.
  • Experience in biomedical and/or haemocompatibility research.
  • Experience reporting research findings.
  • Experience working with ASTM standards including F1841, F1830-97, F2888, and F2382.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
