Senior Backend Engineer (PHP)

Location: Ukraine; remote. Flexible working format may also include office-based work.

A compliance-focused workflow platform is being modernized across compliance workflows and inventory integrations using a large PHP-based CMS codebase.

What you will do

• Build and maintain custom CMS modules and extensions for workflow integrations, notification systems, and role-based access controls.
• Deliver complex backend features independently with minimal architecture oversight.
• Integrate backend services with Vue 3 frontend applications, ensuring consistent data exchange and state.
• Use CMS PHP entity and data models, service containers, and dependency injection patterns to create maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with full stack and frontend engineers, analysts, and QA on implementation, testing, and alignment.
• Maintain code quality and minimize regressions in a monolithic codebase shared by multiple feature teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing custom modules and integrations on modern PHP-based CMS platforms.
• Experience delivering workflow logic, notification systems, and advanced access control.
• Working knowledge of Vue 3 for frontend integration and full stack troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of CMS PHP entity and data modeling, service containers, and dependency injection.
• Ability to work independently with minimal architecture guidance.
