Senior WordPress Developer (WordPress/PHP): Developing, customizing, and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites with an accent on theme and plugin development, SEO, accessibility, and responsive design. Focus on integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services, resolving complex performance issues, mentoring junior developers, and maintaining code quality through reviews.
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with remote and on-site options
Salary: CA$35,000–CA$40,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses

What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and scale WordPress websites with strong performance and availability.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins, including solutions based on WooCommerce, ACF, and Elementor.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, marketers, and developers to deliver new features.
- Optimize websites for SEO, speed, responsiveness, accessibility, and web standards.
- Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues, integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services, and participate in code reviews.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of WordPress development experience.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience with WordPress plugins and frameworks, Git, website optimization tools, and SEO practices.
- Strong front-end and back-end web development, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience with React or Vue.js and familiarity with server-side technologies and MySQL.
- Knowledge of web security, DevOps tools such as Docker and Jenkins, or open-source WordPress contributions.
