Verafin - Software Development Student (January 2027)

Location: St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Collaborate with the team to deliver project requirements and contribute to ongoing initiatives.
• Help solve technical problems and design software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to support quality and learn development best practices.
• Develop technical and professional skills through training, mentorship, and real-world software development.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and continuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Availability for a registered January 2027 co-op.
• Experience with object-oriented software development.
• Strong analytical skills, curiosity, eagerness to learn, and creative problem-solving ability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a team environment.
• A recent transcript, including an unofficial copy, must be submitted with the resume.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Amazon Web Services or other cloud technologies.
• Experience with distributed computing or database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
