Senior Expert Gameplay Engineer (C++)

Location: Onsite at the Madison, WI office, four days per week; the role is associated with Raven Software in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Salary: $149,100–$275,876 annual base pay in the U.S.; incentive compensation may also apply.

What you will do

• Develop, modify, debug, and refine gameplay and engine code in C/C++.
• Develop and debug gameplay features using a proprietary scripting language.
• Deploy, test, evaluate performance, and optimize software for PC client and server platforms.
• Collaborate with art, design, audio, animation, QA, and other internal departments.
• Co-develop features with other Activision studios and document software for engineering teams.
• Participate in scheduling, design, performance, and code review processes.

Requirements

• 13+ years of software engineering experience and at least one shipped game title.
• Extensive C/C++ programming experience and a background in multithreaded code.
• Experience in gameplay-related areas such as AI, physics, animation, weapons, scripting, or networking.
• Strong 3D mathematics skills and comprehensive object-oriented programming knowledge.
• Ability to write efficient, clean, readable, portable, and reliable code.
• Ability to collaborate, coordinate, communicate, and support other team members.

Nice to have

• First-person shooter gameplay experience.
• Experience with networking services such as PSN, Xbox Live, or Steam.
