Data Engineer (Geospatial Data)

Location: Paris, France; onsite in the office five days per week

What you will do

• Build and improve data pipelines for location and place-related data.
• Process large, complex, and noisy geospatial datasets.
• Improve data quality, reliability, monitoring, and observability.
• Develop metrics and feedback loops to measure data quality.
• Prototype and analyze solutions using Python, SQL, notebooks, and similar tools.
• Support production experiments, backend integrations, offline evaluations, and A/B testing.

Requirements

• Strong Python and SQL skills, with production experience in Python or Scala.
• Experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, Parquet, and Iceberg.
• Strong experience working with large-scale datasets and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with geospatial data, points of interest, entity matching, or similar real-world data is required.
• Understanding of data quality, metrics, and experimentation, plus comfort working with backend systems and production code.

Nice to have

• Experience with maps, mobility, local search, POI data, or geospatial systems.
• Experience with ranking, recommendations, embeddings, or entity resolution.
• Experience with Flink or similar stream-processing systems.
• Experience reading or making scoped changes in Rust-backed systems.
