Service Reliability Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Chicago, United States

Annual base salary: $180,000–$210,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Administer and improve a large Kubernetes platform spanning hundreds of clusters, thousands of nodes, and dozens of components.
• Support successful application onboarding and deployment for business units and internal platform users.
• Develop new platform features and components for on-premises and cloud-based container infrastructure.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and improve platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Work with trading desks, infrastructure stakeholders, and other teams to solve complex technical problems and provide customer-focused support.

Requirements

• Experience working with or administering Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and containerization fundamentals.
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and discuss technical and operational topics using evidence.
• Service-focused approach, willingness to learn, and ability to find solutions under complex constraints.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes operators and tools such as Flux, Fluent Bit, Fluentd, and Prometheus.
• Experience administering on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience developing, deploying, and supporting full-stack web applications.
• Experience with multiple programming languages across greenfield development and legacy maintenance.
