Software Development Engineer IV (AI/Azure)

Salary: $118,900–$202,100 national range; $135,600–$230,500 national plus range for higher-cost labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.

What you will do

• Design and develop AI and GenAI solutions using Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, RAG, vector search, and agent-based frameworks.
• Integrate AI capabilities with Azure DevOps Wikis, documentation repositories, and other enterprise knowledge sources.
• Define scalable, secure, performant, usable, and maintainable technical architectures and solutions.
• Lead feature development, provide technical direction, and guide delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Establish engineering practices covering code reviews, documentation, testing, CI/CD, governance, compliance, and security.
• Mentor engineers, review vendor solutions, monitor delivery metrics, and drive continuous improvement across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of software development experience and strong software development lifecycle knowledge.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Experience delivering complex, high-performance, scalable, and reliable enterprise systems.
• Strong architectural thinking, technical judgment, collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work in a primarily sedentary role and communicate clearly in person and by telephone.

Nice to have

• Cloud solution design and Azure DevOps experience, including Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Wiki.
• Azure AI/OpenAI, RAG, prompt engineering, API and service-based architecture experience.
• Healthcare or other highly regulated environment experience.
• Agile delivery, observability, automated testing, or familiarity with Facets.
