Data Engineer (Insurtech)

Location: Residence in Île-de-France and regular work from the Paris office are required; flexible hybrid work is available. Full remote is not available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain a data quality and reliability framework with dbt tests, monitoring, ownership, and severity levels.
• Improve the data development environment through dbt CI/CD, review standards, documentation, and data contracts.
• Develop data marts, promote self-service analytics, and help business teams use trusted data independently.
• Integrate internal and external data sources into the warehouse and maintain event-driven pipelines connected to the application backend.
• Build and evolve a governed semantic layer supporting accurate AI-agent answers and access to business information.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Growth, Insurance, and Engineering on data requirements, product launches, reporting, and production issues.

Requirements

• At least three years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent scope, judgment, and autonomy.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on dbt experience.
• Strong understanding of a modern cloud data warehouse, such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or ClickHouse.
• Ability to reason about data models, architecture trade-offs, and connections between technical choices and business goals.
• Willingness to learn TypeScript and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Residence in Île-de-France and regular availability to work from the Paris office are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, Google Cloud, event-driven architectures, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Python.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Argo CD, agentic data systems, or semantic layers.
• Background in a startup or scaleup data team, especially in SaaS, fintech, insurtech, or another data-intensive product environment.
