Senior Product Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Canada, limited to candidates based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo. Office attendance is required at least one day per week according to the department schedule.

Salary: 125,800–170,100 CAD annual base salary, with a midpoint of 147,900 CAD

What you will do

• Lead design system projects covering components, interaction patterns, and design tokens across web and mobile platforms.
• Apply brand and experience principles through high-quality visual and interaction design.
• Identify system gaps and drive solutions that improve consistency, usability, accessibility, performance, and team velocity.
• Define governance models, contribution processes, documentation, and best practices.
• Partner with engineering on implementation and AI-backed design-to-code tools and workflows.
• Collaborate with designers and product teams to support adoption, share practices, and incorporate feedback.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating design craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact on product quality or team efficiency.
• 2–5 years of experience designing and evolving design systems, including components, patterns, tokens, and documentation.
• Deep expertise in interaction design, UI patterns, visual design, and web or mobile accessibility standards.
• Experience collaborating with engineers and understanding how design translates to code.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, React, Figma, components, tokens, auto-layout, and prototyping.
• Must be based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo and able to attend the office at least one day per week.

• Experience scaling design systems in fast-growing, multi-product environments.
• Experience designing complex B2B SaaS tools for small-business customers.
• TypeScript coding skills and hands-on experience implementing tokens or improving component quality.
