2027 Foundation Phase Apprentice Teachers (Midrand Primary)

What you will do

• Support Resident Teachers in delivering engaging, technology-enhanced enquiry-based lessons.
• Help establish ambitious learning goals and provide feedback that supports student progress.
• Conduct ongoing student assessments with Resident Teachers and adapt instructional content and delivery.
• Participate in feedback meetings, professional development, instructional coaching, and daily reflection.
• Communicate with parents through email, telephone, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Support co-curricular activities, collaborative committees, supervision duties, and selected morning, evening, and weekend events.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education and entering the third or fourth year in 2027, or holding a bachelor’s degree and completing a PGCE in 2027.
• You must not yet be a qualified teacher at the start of 2027.
• Provisional SACE registration is required.
• English and Mathematics teaching experience or curriculum knowledge.
• Ability to understand children, collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively, use technology for instruction, and apply constructive feedback.
• Availability to work at the Midrand Primary Campus in South Africa, including assigned in-person supervision and occasional weekend events.

Nice to have

• Experience with Singapore Maths and THRASS English.
• Understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives.
