Product Manager (Machine Learning) (E-commerce/AI): Creating and delivering machine learning roadmaps for merchant, marketplace, supply chain, and logistics use cases with an accent on data-driven product strategy, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business outcomes. Focus on defining AI/ML problems, coordinating machine learning engineers, building scalable data products, and balancing long-term product vision with iterative delivery.
Location: Cape Town, South Africa; hybrid working model

What you will do
- Create and facilitate delivery of machine learning roadmaps for merchant, retail, marketplace, supply chain, and logistics use cases.
- Identify ML opportunities with business units and prioritize projects based on business impact and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers and stakeholders to deliver projects against quarterly roadmap timelines.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to define product requirements and success metrics.
- Drive the vertical’s North Star metric through iterative machine learning projects and communicate ML capabilities and limitations across the business.
- Balance long-term product vision with short-term improvements that address customer and stakeholder needs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of related and transferable experience or 3+ years of product management experience.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, preferably in high-traffic environments.
- Proficiency with agile methods and project management tools in timeline-sensitive environments.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML and engineering fundamentals, with the ability to collaborate effectively with machine learning engineers and data scientists.
- Experience with advanced Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and BigQuery or a similar technology.
- Strong commercial judgment, data analysis skills, and the ability to translate technical subjects for business stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience delivering machine learning or data products, including defining AI/ML problems, data strategies, ML MVPs, and scaled iterations.
- Experience using Python or R/RStudio for product decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Science, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
