What you will do
- Create, maintain, and support software for the Electron rocket and associated ground-based communication systems.
- Develop flight software for launch vehicle avionics embedded computers and ground segment communications.
- Build avionics simulations, including hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Develop software and unit tests for bug fixes and new features.
- Document, deploy, and provide training for operational software products.
- Participate in code reviews, software architecture meetings, stakeholder meetings, trade studies, and requirements approval.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge.
- At least 2 years of experience in a software engineering-related discipline.
- Professional development experience with C/C++.
- For the New Zealand office, background and nationality checks are required, and access to ITAR-regulated equipment and data is a condition of the role.
- Eligibility may depend on citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, a European Union country, or a NATO member country, subject to ITAR requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-reliability software systems, networking, or radio communications.
- Knowledge of software-defined radio, encoding schemes, and embedded software fundamentals.
- Experience developing within Linux systems or with Python.
- Experience with data processing and analysis.
