TL;DR
Executive Director, Global Patient Safety Sciences Delivery (AI): Leading standardized Safety Sciences operations across therapeutic areas with an accent on signal detection, safety surveillance, aggregate safety reporting, and compliant governance. Focus on scaling a global capability center, integrating AI into operational delivery, and building high-performing teams across cross-functional pharmaceutical functions.

Location: Uxbridge, Middlesex, United Kingdom. Travel as needed. The role is associated with onsite work expectations.

What you will do

  • Define global strategies, common practices, processes, and templates for consistent Safety Sciences execution across products and therapeutic areas.
  • Oversee signal detection and signal management, including Safety Monitoring Teams, Safety Surveillance Plans, and Signal Evaluation Reports.
  • Coordinate benefit-risk assessments for periodic safety reports and contribute Medical and Safety perspectives to portfolio documents.
  • Establish safety data analysis frameworks, SOPs, monitoring tools, and quality and compliance controls.
  • Enable the Global Capability Center to operate efficiently at scale and introduce innovative technologies, including AI.
  • Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Biostatistics, Data Management, Safety Sciences TAHs, and GPS Leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum M.D., PA, PhD, or PharmD degree; board certification or an equivalent qualification in a relevant clinical specialty.
  • 17+ years of experience in pharmacovigilance or relevant clinical experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 6+ years of team leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience overseeing operations within a global patient safety organization is preferred.
  • Strong capabilities in Safety operations optimization, quality management, regulatory compliance, communication, organizational planning, and managing multiple projects.

Nice to have

  • MBA.
  • Experience with global patient safety operations oversight.
