Senior Software Engineer (Ranking & Recommendations)

Location: Lund, Sweden; hybrid work with on-site attendance at least three days a week

hirify.global develops a product discovery platform that helps retailers improve search, recommendations, and product exposure.

What you will do

• Build and evolve production ranking capabilities and services primarily in Java and partly in Python.
• Design and fine-tune personalized ranking and product recommendation algorithms.
• Combine behavioral, customer-provided, and other ranking signals dynamically.
• Design, run, and evaluate A/B tests and automate test flows.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, the technical roadmap, and reliable production rollouts.
• Evaluate latency, scalability, reliability, downstream effects, and customer value.

Requirements

• Excellent programming skills and strong knowledge of data structures and fundamental algorithms.
• Familiarity with concurrent programming and strong object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience designing or evolving production systems from an architectural perspective.
• Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Lund, with at least three on-site days per week.

Nice to have

• Production experience with machine learning, embeddings, or LLMs.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput services.
