TL;DR
Senior Frontend Software Engineer (React): Build and evolve reusable React and TypeScript components and embedded insurance journeys with an accent on performance, accessibility, design-system consistency, and secure API integration. Focus on optimizing Core Web Vitals, implementing WCAG-compliant interfaces, designing maintainable client-side architecture, and using AI-assisted tooling responsibly.
Location: Hybrid in Brussels; candidates across Europe are welcome, with flexible remote arrangements. Up to one month per year may be worked from anywhere globally.

What you will do
- Build and evolve reusable UI components and customer journeys with React and TypeScript.
- Own front-end performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, reliability, and cross-device experience.
- Contribute to the design system through shared components, design tokens, and Storybook documentation.
- Collaborate with product, design, and back-end teams to integrate REST APIs and deliver secure front-end implementations.
- Use AI-assisted developer tooling responsibly for test generation, refactoring, documentation, and faster iteration.
Requirements
- Typically 5+ years of professional experience building production front-ends.
- Strong production expertise in React and TypeScript, including component patterns, typing, performance, and maintainable architecture.
- Experience writing automated unit, integration, and/or end-to-end tests.
- Strong CSS and HTML fundamentals, including responsive layouts, theming, semantic markup, and form handling.
- Experience integrating REST APIs, handling authentication and errors, and working with API contracts.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines, React state-management patterns, and Git.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Playwright, state machines such as XState, CI/CD, SSR frameworks such as Next.js or Remix, and Node basics.
