TL;DR
Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Building and deploying large-scale security systems for Snap’s production environments, corporate infrastructure, and internal tools with an accent on detection engineering, automation, and incident response. Focus on investigating intrusions, performing digital forensics and malware analysis, and improving threat detection across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments.
Location: Sydney office; expected to work in person 4+ days per week

What you will do
- Build, deploy, and maintain large-scale security systems across production environments, corporate infrastructure, and internal tools.
- Research and improve security capabilities through new tooling and smart automation that reduces manual alert triage.
- Develop detection coverage across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
- Investigate alerts and incidents end-to-end, including digital forensics, malware analysis, and threat intelligence.
- Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with multiple teams during intrusion attempts and suspicious activity.
- Participate in red team exercises and threat simulations to identify security gaps and improve response capabilities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in incident response, detection engineering, or related security disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.
- Practical experience with BeyondCorp or Zero Trust security models.
- Expertise in one or more areas such as digital forensics, malware analysis, incident response, intrusion detection, network telemetry, threat intelligence, or threat hunting.
- Experience with operating system internals and at least two of macOS, Windows, and Linux, plus cloud security experience across at least two of Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services.
