ML Engineer, Foundation Model Recipes (AI)

Location: On-site/hybrid in Mountain View or San Francisco, California; New York City, New York; or Kirkland, Washington

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 USD per year, plus discretionary annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and extend machine learning and robotics research for embodied AI agents.
• Advance model recipes focused on quality, safety, and realism.
• Collaborate across organizations to bring innovative technology into production.
• Work with state-of-the-art foundation models.
• Drive model development through data, evaluation, and systems work.
• Implement and extend large-scale data and evaluation pipelines.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or another modern deep learning framework.
• Prior industrial or research experience developing recipes for machine learning models.
• Ability to work in the listed US on-site/hybrid locations.

Nice to have

• Publications in top-tier conferences or leading open-source projects.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience designing large distributed pipelines.
• Experience in autonomous vehicle planning and related research.
• Experience labeling and curating data for machine learning evaluation and training.
