TL;DR

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; NSW-based candidates required, with Central West candidates particularly encouraged

What you will do

  • Manage ecological projects from planning through delivery, including budgets, programs, resourcing and client expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate flora and fauna surveys across complex projects and challenging sites in New South Wales.
  • Provide ecological advice supporting planning, approvals, environmental management and project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports and ecological assessments in line with NSW legislation, policy and approval pathways.
  • Support and mentor junior ecologists through technical guidance and field leadership.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of relevant ecological consulting experience, predominantly in New South Wales.
  • Tertiary qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience conducting flora and fauna surveys.
  • Experience with GIS desktop software such as ESRI, ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Knowledge of NSW legislation, policy and environmental approval pathways.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.
  • Biodiversity Assessment Method accreditation.
  • Specialisation in botany.
