Senior Mobile Engineer (Android/Kotlin)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, US, with 3 days per week in-office

Salary: $170,000–$228,000 plus equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship features across iOS and Android apps, including required backend changes.
• Own releases from code cut through app-store deployment on both platforms.
• Extend release automation, testing, instrumentation, and review gates so a small team can ship reliably without a manual QA pass.
• Drive architecture decisions across mobile codebases and lead adoption of significant platform changes.
• Collaborate with product and design on product decisions and technical tradeoffs.
• Use AI coding agents where they provide leverage and improve the tools, workflows, and guardrails around them.

Requirements

• Production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, including shipping shared code or defining appropriate shared boundaries.
• Recent production code shipped outside the primary platform, such as iOS, backend, or web; experience shipping on both iOS and Android is advantageous.
• Experience leading a mobile architecture or platform change from proposal through adoption.
• Comfort working with APIs, entitlements, analytics, and other services behind mobile applications.
• Automation-first quality practices, including deliberate device testing and automation for repeatable failure modes.
• Active experience with AI coding agents, clear technical communication, and pragmatic judgment around speed and quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with Compose Multiplatform.
• Experience with CallKit or the Android telecom framework.
• Experience building companion experiences for CarPlay, Android Auto, watchOS, or Wear OS.
• Experience with in-app subscription platforms such as RevenueCat.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD and release tools such as Bitrise or Runway.
