VP, Business Intelligence & Analytics (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid in Short Hills, New Jersey, or Charlotte, North Carolina

Salary: USD $206,000–$266,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the claims business intelligence strategy, including business metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions.
• Identify and monitor factors affecting underwriting and claims performance, using insights to support premium growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
• Lead statistical, data, and financial analyses and manage complex project implementation plans, resources, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Drive stakeholder engagement, communications, business readiness, deployment, and change management for knowledge management initiatives.
• Develop data-driven decision-making capabilities and identify opportunities to use third-party capabilities and distinctive data sources.
• Partner with IT on the ongoing development and support of the data warehouse and business intelligence environment, including structured information governance.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft BI tools, including Cognos, MS SharePoint, SQL, Access, and Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, with strong customer service, networking, relationship-building, and senior-management communication skills.
• Experience with data warehouse analysis and design, data warehouse methodologies, and data modeling is beneficial.
• General insurance industry knowledge and strong project management skills.
• College degree preferred, with 10 years of underwriting, claims, loss control, insurance-related, or financial services experience.
• 5+ years of claims experience and 5+ years leading teams delivering complex business intelligence projects preferred.
