What you will do

• Prepare, scan, label, and maintain paper and electronic medical records for clinical study patients.
• Collect records from mail, fax, email, registration areas, and physician offices while maintaining professional communication.
• Attach records to the electronic medical record system according to established guidelines.
• Manage medical record requests and patient-care releases of information in compliance with HIPAA.
• Keep healthcare providers informed about record availability and assist with purging deceased and inactive charts.
• Support the research team and help guide or train less experienced staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritize workflow.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate with research personnel.
