TL;DR
Localization Engineer (With Language Skills) (AI/localization automation): Driving AI-enabled localization workflows, linguistic quality programs, and multilingual language resource management with an accent on generative AI, machine translation, automation, and European-language expertise. Focus on designing workflow improvements, evaluating multilingual AI content, governing terminology and translation assets, and supporting scalable localization technologies.
Location: Cork, Ireland; hybrid, with onsite attendance required as needed. Candidates must be located in Ireland. Relocation assistance is not offered.

What you will do
- Drive adoption of AI-powered localization workflows using generative AI, machine translation, LLMs, and automation.
- Design process improvements and automation solutions using scripting, integrations, and workflow technologies.
- Provide linguistic expertise, conduct localization quality assurance, and improve multilingual content quality.
- Define and maintain terminology, style guides, language standards, translation memories, taxonomies, ontologies, and AI evaluation datasets.
- Evaluate emerging AI solutions and support multilingual AI systems and language data initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to resolve linguistic challenges and drive adoption of new technologies.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in at least one European language.
- Experience in localization engineering, localization QA, language technology, globalization, content operations, or a related field.
- Experience with translation management systems and localization technologies.
- Strong linguistic expertise, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience improving workflows and operational processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a global collaborative environment.
- Technical aptitude and interest in AI, language quality, customer experience, and emerging technologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with generative AI platforms, prompt engineering, multilingual AI evaluation, AI governance, or responsible AI.
- Python scripting, REST APIs, system integrations, JSON, XML, Git, GitHub, or workflow automation platforms.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AI agents, autonomous workflows, and agent orchestration.
- Experience with XTM, Smartling, Phrase, MemoQ, Trados, or similar localization platforms.
- Knowledge of internationalization principles, translation memory, terminology management, machine translation, and localization automation.
