Java Team Lead (iGaming)

Location: Birkirkara, Malta; hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

What you will do

• Drive the technical direction and delivery of live casino products.
• Design technical solutions based on business needs and architectural guidance.
• Implement robust, scalable, and secure Java applications.
• Mentor one or two developer teams and support code quality through reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Operations, architects, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Estimate work, prioritize tasks, manage delivery risks, and resolve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Developer, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or similar leadership role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java JDK 21, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, WebSockets, cloud platforms, SQL and NoSQL databases, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka, CI/CD, Git, Agile, Scrum, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
