Senior Software Engineer (Senior UNIX Automation Engineer)

Location: Katowice, Poland; candidates must be located in Poland, have EU citizenship, and be open to visits to the Katowice office and occasional business trips abroad.

Salary: 12,000–16,000 PLN gross/month under UoP, or 100–140 PLN net/hour under B2B.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation for large-scale Unix/Linux environments, including configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Build Infrastructure-as-Code solutions with Ansible, Ansible Automation Platform, GitLab, Python, and Bash.
• Provide third-level support for automation platforms and Unix systems, resolving complex issues and implementing long-term improvements.
• Develop automated workflows for deployment, configuration, orchestration, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure services.
• Maintain technical documentation, automation standards, and operational best practices.

Requirements

• Located in Poland and an EU citizen.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience, including LVM, filesystems, NFS, storage management, and enterprise-scale infrastructure operations.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Satellite, EfficientIP, Python, Bash, GitLab, and CFEngine.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation engineering, system administration, or infrastructure engineering in complex enterprise environments.
• Fluent English at B2/C1 level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; analytical troubleshooting skills and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform, Kickstart, Podman, HAProxy, VTOM, n8n, ServiceNow integrations, or other workflow orchestration tools.
• Exposure to Perl or PHP automation scripts and AI/LLM-powered tools.
• Security clearance.
