Thesis Student (Embedded Software Development)

hirify.global's IAR business develops software development tools for engineers building, debugging, testing, and securing embedded software.

What you will do

• Explore and define a technical thesis problem with an IAR supervisor and the development team.
• Research relevant approaches, technologies, and methods.
• Design, implement, or prototype potential solutions.
• Test, measure, and evaluate results in a real engineering environment.
• Collaborate with software engineers and gain practical insight into embedded products and development processes.
• Document findings, draw conclusions, and present the thesis outcome.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, embedded systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Programming experience from studies, personal projects, internships, or work.
• Interest in embedded systems, software development, testing, debugging, automation, or developer tools.
• Curiosity about technical problems and the ability to turn ideas into practical solutions.
• Ability to take ownership, ask questions, and collaborate with others.
• English communication skills sufficient to clearly communicate work and findings.

Nice to have

• Experience with C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Exposure to embedded systems, software testing, test automation, debugging, CI/CD, or development tools.
• Independent technical projects completed at university or personally.
