Manager, Upstream Pilot Plant (Gene Therapy)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; full-time, in-person presence required

Salary: $124,000–$161,000 annual

What you will do

• Execute upstream processes for gene therapy products, including cell culture expansion and bioreactor operations.
• Operate processes at bench, pilot, and production scales.
• Prepare media and buffers for upstream manufacturing activities.
• Operate and maintain cell culture equipment and support specialized operational needs.
• Maintain GLP-compliant documentation and author manufacturing records and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within viral vector manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in upstream process development or manufacturing support in bioprocessing.
• Experience with cell culture and bioreactor operations.
• Ability to work full-time in person from the San Diego, California office.
