Data Center Engineer

What you will do

• Design and execute deployment plans for servers, storage, and network hardware, including power, cooling, cabling, rack layout, and network topology.
• Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot enterprise server, storage, and networking equipment.
• Develop automation for inventory management, configuration deployment, health checks, and operational workflows using Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Diagnose Linux system, performance, stability, connectivity, and latency issues across network layers 1–3.
• Build and maintain high-density copper and single- and multi-mode fiber cabling, asset records, DCIM data, spare-parts readiness, and equipment logistics.
• Support GPU and accelerated-computing systems, infrastructure incidents, vendor coordination, physical security, safety, documentation, and audit readiness while participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a high-density, mission-critical data center, colocation, cloud, HPC, research, or similarly demanding environment.
• Experience with Linux or Unix systems administration, command-line tools, server hardware, CPUs, memory, storage, power supplies, and network interfaces.
• Strong networking fundamentals across layers 1–3 and experience troubleshooting high-speed copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Familiarity with DCIM tools, asset management, inventory processes, and data center operations.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with global teams and vendors, and communicate clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying or troubleshooting GPU servers and accelerated-computing platforms.
• Experience with direct-to-chip or direct liquid cooling, HPC, high-performance storage, or large-scale compute clusters.
• Experience writing automation with Python, Bash, Shell, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with network hardware, optics, and high-speed interconnect technologies.
