General Manager - Custody & Compliance (Crypto): Owning the custody and compliance business direction across strategy, P&L, product, operations, and engineering with an accent on crypto money movement, KYC/AML, Travel Rule controls, fraud prevention, and customer conversion. Focus on building scalable compliance operations, improving deposit and withdrawal reliability, managing external providers, and balancing risk controls with commercial outcomes.
Location: Worldwide; remote or hybrid with flexible hours across international teams

What you will do
- Own the Custody & Compliance direction, including strategy, roadmap, priorities, budget, unit economics, and business results.
- Lead custody infrastructure, deposit and withdrawal flows, transaction processing, incidents, and customer experience around money movement.
- Build scalable KYC, AML, Travel Rule, fraud prevention, case management, escalation, and transaction-monitoring operations.
- Manage relationships and commercial negotiations with custody, KYC, AML, and infrastructure providers.
- Lead the dedicated engineering team, partnering with the Tech Lead on backlog, releases, delivery, hiring, and measurable outcomes.
- Work with C-level stakeholders, Legal, and Risk to balance compliance effectiveness, conversion, revenue, and customer experience.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in crypto custody, payments, KYC/AML, or related financial infrastructure.
- Experience owning custody and compliance processes in a crypto exchange, wallet, broker, crypto bank, BaaS, custody platform, or similar environment.
- Practical experience with Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, Uphold, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of KYC, AML, Travel Rule, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and scalable compliance operations.
- Experience managing external providers, negotiating commercial terms, leading teams, and owning delivery.
- Strong product, commercial, analytical, and technical skills, with the ability to connect compliance decisions to conversion, revenue, and customer experience.
