Senior QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the QA automation framework using TypeScript and Playwright.
• Develop automated end-to-end, browser, API, integration, and database tests for critical application workflows.
• Establish scalable patterns for reusable components, fixtures, configuration, environments, reporting, execution, and failure diagnostics.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and parallel execution strategies.
• Write SQL queries, manage test data, and validate application and database state.
• Mentor automation engineers and collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in QA automation, software development in test, or a comparable automation engineering role.
• Experience designing or significantly evolving an automated testing framework.
• Strong hands-on TypeScript or JavaScript development skills and experience with Playwright or a comparable browser automation framework.
• Experience with automated end-to-end and API testing, CI/CD integration, test isolation, configuration management, debugging, and failure diagnosis.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including queries for validation and test setup.
• Strong communication, ownership, independent problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience introducing automation into mature or legacy applications with technical debt.
• Experience establishing a QA automation team, practice, or testing platform.
• Deep Playwright experience with fixtures, parallel execution, network interception, tracing, configuration, and debugging.
• Experience with Node.js, PowerShell, stored procedures, test-data management, or automated environment setup and teardown.
• Experience improving the reliability, execution time, or maintainability of large regression suites and mentoring junior or mid-level engineers.
