TL;DR
Employment Lead (International Employment Compliance): Building a unified global employment function across Ukraine, the US, Spain, Cyprus, and other key regions with an accent on compliance, risk management, and scalable employment operations. Focus on auditing jurisdictional obligations, standardizing the employment lifecycle, monitoring legislative changes, and designing processes for expansion into new countries.
Location: Ukraine and Europe; hybrid work model with the option to work remotely or from the Kyiv hub

What you will do
- Audit employment administration and map obligations across Ukraine, the US, Spain, and Cyprus.
- Identify compliance gaps and prepare written risk assessments with prioritized remediation steps.
- Standardize employment lifecycle documentation and processes from hiring through offboarding.
- Build legislative-change monitoring with clear decision owners across jurisdictions.
- Design scalable employment processes for entering new countries without ad hoc coordination.
- Lead the Ukraine employment team and define responsibilities across internal teams and external counsel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in employment administration, employment law, or people operations, including compliance ownership in at least one jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of Ukrainian labor law, including wartime changes, reservation, and military registration.
- Exposure to US federal and state employment compliance or EU jurisdictions, especially Spain or Cyprus.
- Experience managing a team and owning a function end to end.
- Ability to research unfamiliar jurisdictions, brief external counsel, and convert legal guidance into operational processes.
- English at B2+ level for working with US and EU counsel and vendors.
Nice to have
- Experience with EOR/PEO providers and entity-versus-EOR decisions.
- Experience supporting international expansion into a new country from scratch.
- Familiarity with HRIS and document automation tools.
