Location: Hybrid at the client's discretion, based at the CDC Roybal Campus, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia, United States

What you will do
- Design, maintain, and evaluate domestic and international surveillance systems and databases for human and animal health data.
- Collect, clean, validate, manage, and analyze epidemiologic, surveillance, and research datasets.
- Identify disease cases, clusters, trends, and issues requiring further investigation.
- Support outbreak investigations and case-based surveillance in collaboration with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, laboratory, and public health partners.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, manuscripts, publications, training materials, and public health communications.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, working groups, inquiries, project planning, contract packages, submissions, and milestone tracking.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting epidemiologic surveillance, public health research, or infectious disease programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, and statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, R, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with database management, data analysis, surveillance systems, infectious disease surveillance, and outbreak investigations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, verbal, scientific writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external public health partners.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with DCIPHER.
- Experience preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, and scientific presentations.
