Security Engineering Manager (Cybersecurity IAM)

Location: Hybrid in Bucharest, Romania

What you will do

• Build and lead the Romania Security Engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Own delivery of IAM features and platform capabilities aligned with semi-annual and annual program goals.
• Guide technical decisions in IAM architecture, access control design, security operations, and cloud-native security.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical work.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, and cybersecurity stakeholders to resolve conflicts and align priorities.
• Support incident response and escalations while establishing engineering processes and best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IAM, security engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Technical depth in cloud IAM services such as AWS IAM, Azure Entra, and GCP IAM.
• Experience with SAML, OIDC, Kerberos, zero trust, least privilege, and just-in-time access.
• Ability to lead teams through ambiguity and deliver results in distributed engineering environments.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience building or scaling a new team or regional engineering hub.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, Go, or Bash, plus infrastructure as code with Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR compliance frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, and cloud-native security architectures.
• Experience in a cybersecurity product company or managing distributed engineering teams across time zones.
