Merchant Integration Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Riga, Latvia — hybrid

Salary: €3,500–5,000 gross monthly

Electronic Money Institution providing online payment processing, payment gateway, merchant account, open banking, recurring payment, and mass payment solutions.

What you will do

• Support and maintain integrations between merchants and payment systems.
• Analyze logs and trace REST API requests and responses to diagnose integration issues.
• Reproduce bugs, test integrations against technical specifications, and perform sandbox verification after changes.
• Troubleshoot asynchronous payment flows involving webhooks, callbacks, and status polling.
• Configure and troubleshoot payment plugins and modules for WooCommerce and OpenCart.
• Prepare technical escalations and maintain integration documentation, onboarding checklists, FAQs, and troubleshooting scenarios.

Requirements

• Experience in integration engineering, API QA, or a similar technical role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and Postman.
• Ability to read technical documentation and existing code, troubleshoot integrations, and communicate technical issues clearly.
• Working knowledge of PHP/Laravel, JavaScript, SQL, and MySQL/MariaDB.
• Familiarity with Git, Swagger/OpenAPI, Browser DevTools, Kibana/Grafana, and Jira.
• English at B1+ level and Russian required; strong information-security practices for sensitive payment data.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments or acquiring, including 3DS, webhooks, transaction statuses, and payment response codes.
• Experience with WooCommerce/OpenCart integrations, PCI DSS, technical customer support, or fintech.
