TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (Data Fabric): Designing and building a next-generation distributed data infrastructure platform for large-scale data integration, processing, governance, and security with an accent on scalability, reliability, and high performance. Focus on architecting distributed ingestion, storage, processing, and querying systems, optimizing workloads, mentoring engineers, and integrating technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, and Kubernetes.

What you will do
- Lead the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of the Data Fabric platform.
- Design and optimize distributed data systems for ingestion, storage, processing, and querying at scale.
- Improve performance, reliability, security, availability, scalability, and extensibility of data workloads.
- Mentor senior engineers, establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and drive CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams and lead complex technical decisions.
- Evaluate and integrate technologies including Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Kubernetes, and AI coding tools.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years working with distributed data systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in a system-level programming language such as C# or Java.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, system design, architectural patterns, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous programming, and cloud programming.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, and agile development.
- Strong communication, project delivery, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Full-stack development experience.
- Understanding of LLMs and AI-powered API automation.
- Experience with GraphQL or data mesh architectures.
- Familiarity with Prometheus or Grafana.
