TL;DR
Embedded Software Developer (C/C++/Rust): Building and evolving reliable embedded software platforms for industrial control systems with an accent on real-time operating systems, Linux-based development, and low-level software engineering. Focus on designing, testing, troubleshooting, and improving platform components through root-cause analysis, CI/CD, automated testing, and architectural reviews.
Location: Hybrid work at the Wilrijk facility in Antwerp, Belgium

What you will do
- Design, implement, test, and evolve embedded software platforms used across industrial product lines.
- Develop and enhance low-level software components in C, C++, or Rust within Linux-based environments.
- Troubleshoot issues from early development testing through field support, perform root-cause analyses, and implement preventive actions.
- Apply code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing to maintain software quality.
- Participate in architectural design reviews, maintain technical specifications, and support recurring software releases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
- Practical embedded software development experience with C, C++, or Rust.
- Understanding of operating system internals, real-time operating systems, embedded architectures, and Linux development environments.
- Familiarity with software design principles, object-oriented design, and modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, communication, documentation, teamwork, ownership, and accountability skills.
- Entry-level candidates with relevant academic or personal projects and experienced embedded software engineers are encouraged to apply.

- Scripting skills in Python.
